A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam inspection of a 6,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.
The TankCam inspection revealed widespread corrosion. The lower half of the tank showed sludge and debris build-up. After removing residual liquid from the tank, two points of water ingress were found on the tank bottom. The TankCam inspection found swirling liquid and pooling of liquid, both signs of an ingress of water.
