Tank Trouble Tuesday
A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Northwest region requested a TankCam inspection of a 10,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The customer also requested a TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning.
The TankCam inspection revealed considerable sludge buildup on the bottom of the tank a screwdriver and several other pieces of debris. After the TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning, the TankCam shows that the sludge and debris had been removed and the tank was clean. The tank was later returned to service.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Northeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 8,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.
The TankCam inspection revealed discoloration and flaking throughout the tank. Residue was observed on the sides and sediment and debris were found on the bottom of the tank. Corrosion was also seen in the ATG riser.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Northeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 6,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.
The TankCam inspection revealed cosmetic blemishes on the sides and ceiling of the tank. The bottom of tank was obscured by product, while residue and possible corrosion were found on the STP shaft, STP bung and manway. Corrosion was also found in the riser pipe.
